The Advent and Christmas season can seem long, especially when the challenges of life feel overwhelming. Many of us have endured recent years full of loss, illness, frustration, and unwelcomed change. Although Christ joined us in our suffering precisely because our lives are hard and God loves us, being “merry and bright” can still be quite difficult. Our service will focus on instrumental music and readings; no singing required, no expectations of anything more than your presence. Be comforted by the musical gifts of our guests Christina Littlejohn (cello), Drew Irvin of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (violin) and Scott Whitfield (piano).
Please join our simple service of peace that captures the challenges of the season at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20 in the chapel at Second Presbyterian Church. Free childcare is provided in our nursery as well as beverages to warm the hands and spirit. There will be a time to light a candle, touch the waters of baptism, or place an ornament if you feel so moved.
